Head of a Man, Pencil Drawing Study of Physiognomy, c. 1794

A pencil drawing on tan paper shows a man's head in three-quarter view, turned to the left, with swept-back hair, a tied queue at the nape, and a high collar. Soft hatching shades the cheek, brow and neck, and a faint diagonal hatch fills the right margin.
