A woman's head tilts downward toward the lower right, her gaze lowered beneath a loosely draped ochre headscarf. Soft, blended brushwork models the pale face, rosy cheeks and greying hair against a dark, muted ground, with a glimpse of red garment at the bottom edge.

Look closer: A sliver of red garment shows at the lower edge beneath the chin.
