Head of the Disciple Ananda, Northern Qi Dynasty
A carved limestone head of a monk, with a smooth, rounded skull, narrow downcast eyes, a small mouth, and long earlobes. Traces of pigment and weathering mark the grey stone surface, and the neck is broken off in a rough edge below the chin.
