Loose oil sketch of a young woman in a white headscarf and grey-blue dress, gazing upward against a dark background.

Head study for 'The Enchanted Garden' by John William Waterhouse

Loose oil sketch of a young woman with rosy cheeks and red lips, wearing a white headscarf and a grey-blue dress, her head turned and eyes raised upward against a dark, dragged background. Visible, quick brushwork and unfinished edges give the study a sketch-like, direct character.
