Hunting the Deer, chromolithograph after Frost, 1889

A hunter in a light coat and wide-brimmed hat kneels behind a fallen log on a rocky riverbank, aiming toward a deer standing in the shallow stream beyond. Dense evergreens and autumn-colored trees fill the background, rendered in warm browns, greens and ochres.
