Etched oval scene of a small figure holding a lantern among tall reeds at night, with the title Jack o'Lantern below.

Jack o'lantern standing among bulrushes at night, etching by George Cruikshank, 1842

An etched oval vignette shows a small figure holding a lantern at the edge of dark water, framed by tall reeds. The black ground of the night scene contrasts with the pale lantern glow, and the title 'Jack o'Lantern' appears in decorative lettering below with a small sketched figure.
