Kang or furniture cover, Qing dynasty textile

A dark maroon textile with a central large lotus-like rosette surrounded by pale pink and cream flowers, scrolling blue-grey foliage, and small bat-like motifs on a field of repeating swirls. A stepped key-fret border frames the rectangular composition, which appears woven or cut-velvet in polychrome silks.
