Kneeling Cuirassier
A black and white chalk study on tan paper shows a cuirassier kneeling in profile to the left, his plumed helmet tilted down and hands clasped at his waist. He wears a fitted military coat with epaulettes and tall boots, rendered with soft hatching and highlights.
Look closer: The boot at the lower right, drawn with its heel and strap, is easy to overlook against the shading.
