Marble inscribed statue base

A tall, weathered marble block carved with dense rows of Latin inscription across its upper face, resting on a stepped, moulded plinth. Chipping and wear show at the upper left corner, and the stone has a warm, mottled surface. The plain grey backdrop focuses attention on the text and the block's proportions.

Look closer: Faint carved lines of text continue along the lower edge of the moulded base.
