Marble statuette of a slave boy with a lantern

A small white marble statuette shows a boy seated on a rectangular base, his head tilted and his arms wrapped around his drawn-up knees beneath a draped cloak. Weathered brown staining and cracks mark the carved surface, and his bare feet rest on the block.

Look closer: A crack runs across the front of the base beneath the boy's feet.
