Marcus Aurelius Statue, pedestal, elevation (recto); Marcus Aurelius S
A frontal elevation of a classical pedestal drawn in brown ink with incised guidelines. A projecting cornice caps a stepped body with a large recessed central panel flanked by narrower side panels and moulded pilasters. The drawing is architectural and schematic, with careful shading to suggest the depth of the mouldings.
Look closer: A small numeral or mark appears in the central panel and a faint inscription sits along the bottom edge.
