Three etched soldiers in plumed hats hold muskets and pikes in drill poses on a bare ground, with a Latin inscription below.

Military exercise with musket and pike, Callot

Three small figures in plumed hats and period dress perform musket and pike drill on a bare ground line, each in a different stance, one aiming a long gun to the right. Below them a Latin inscription reads Cum Privile Reg. Israel exaudit, and the fine etched lines suggest a printed military exercise plate.
