Mining, Study for Panel, Old Senate Office Building

A tall vertical design shows a seated golden allegorical female figure crowned with a halo-like nimbus above two working men. A standing miner with a pickaxe and a kneeling worker with a shovel occupy the lower foreground, framed by laurel swags and a gilded label reading MINING. The muted palette mixes watercolor, tempera and ink on paperboard.
