Carved limestone relief of a crouching monster figure with bared fangs and clawed hands, supporting a flat block.

Monster Caryatid

A crouching, muscular figure with a fierce face, bared teeth and clawed hands grips the upper edge of a rectangular stone block. Its body is rendered in low relief, with a draped, rounded torso and curving lines suggesting rays or fur behind it.

Look closer: Faint carved rays fan out behind the figure on the left side of the block.
