Woodblock print of a standing woman in a patterned kimono with her head bowed, Edo period Japan.

Moon in Musashi Province

A standing woman in a richly patterned kimono turns her head slightly downward, holding the sleeve and robe edge close to her body. Printed in ink and tan-e color on paper, the figure fills a tall sheet against a pale ground, with a vertical title cartouche at upper right.

Look closer: A red seal impression sits in the lower right corner beside the artist's signature block.
