Mrs. Fuseli Seated Before a Fireplace

A seated woman in a white high-waisted gown turns her head toward the viewer, gathering her skirt in one hand before a stone chimneypiece carved with a head in relief. The graphite and grey wash drawing shows soft tonal shading, with the figure's curled hair and bonnet lit against a dark interior.
