Night Scene

A woman in a striped kimono holds a round lantern with a blossom crest while a companion in a green cloak and black hood stands beside her. Behind them a temple roof and a wooden fence rise against a dark, dusky sky, and a poem column fills the left margin.

Look closer: A small signature and seal appear in the lower right margin beside the sprig of flowers.
