North Transept, Winchester Cathedral, England

A grey watercolor and pencil study of a large Romanesque cathedral transept, its gabled face pierced by a rose window and tiered arched windows. Scaffolding rises at right beside a tomb slab and a small shrub in the lower foreground, under a pale sky. The signature Cass Gilbert 1910 appears in the lower left corner.
