Grey pencil sketch of a short-haired figure with a broad grin, shoulders hunched, one arm raised, on a stained page with a bound spine at right.

Pencil sketch of a grinning seated figure, plate No. 5

A pencil sketch on aged, grey paper shows a seated figure with short hair and a broad, toothy grin, shoulders hunched in a loose garment, one arm raised toward the upper right. Faint outlines, smudges and a marking 'No 5' in the corner suggest a page from a bound volume, with the spine visible along the right edge.
