Pipa
A teardrop-bodied pipa, a Chinese plucked lute, shown upright against a grey backdrop. The dark wood body is smooth and plain, while the neck carries pierced ivory or bone inlays and a carved head with four pegs. Its four strings run over a bone bridge at the base.
Look closer: Fine pierced ivory inlay pattern along the neck, close to the upper body.
