Pope Alexander III presents Doge Ziani with standards and bugles after
A pope enthroned beneath a draped canopy receives a kneeling figure in a long robe while cardinals and attendants crowd the columned steps. To the right, soldiers hold banners and trumpets, and a round building rises in the distance.
Look closer: Armor and helmets lie on the steps at the lower center, near the kneeling figures.
