Portable diptych sundial
An open portable diptych sundial in ivory, with an engraved circular dial and a compass set in a recessed panel on the lower leaf. Ornamental scrollwork and fine calibrations decorate the ivory surfaces, and a small number tag rests on the base. The photograph is in black and white against a pale grey ground.
Look closer: A small number tag reading 58 sits on the base at the lower right.
