Portrait of a Han Emperor, Yuan dynasty painting

A bearded male ruler stands in three-quarter profile against a dark brown ground, wearing a flowing red robe over a patterned green garment and a tall, ornate headdress. He holds a sword hilt at his waist, and the long sleeves and hem fall in soft, rhythmic folds. The painting is ink and color on silk, mounted with a gold border.
