Hairy wild creature crawling on all fours, 1557 prodigy woodcut
A woodcut from a 16th-century book of prodigies shows a hairy, human-like creature crawling on all fours across a hilly landscape. Its long shaggy body, long-haired face, and clawed hands stand out against rows of engraved lines, with trees and a rounded mound at left.
