Reclining Water Buffalo
A small carved jade sculpture shows a water buffalo resting with its legs folded beneath a smooth, rounded body. Its curved horns sweep back over the head, and the pale green stone has a soft, translucent sheen with russet markings near the tail.
Look closer: Reddish-brown mottling in the stone along the tail and hindquarter, a natural inclusion in the jade.
