Roman General (?) Seated before Ruins
A bearded, elderly man in loose draped robes sits on a stone plinth, holding a rolled scroll in one hand and resting the other on his knee. Behind him, a fragmentary arch and carved architecture suggest a ruined classical setting, rendered in fine cross-hatched engraving.
Look closer: A monogram or signature appears in small letters at the lower right corner of the plate.
