Rotterdam in the Moonlight

A night harbour scene under a moonlit, cloud-filled sky, with a tall-masted sailing ship moored on a reflective canal. Dark trees and house facades frame the water, and small figures are visible in rowboats at the left and right. Loose, feathery brushwork renders the clouds and shimmering reflections in an oil painting signed and dated 1881.
