Round Box with Bird and Peonies Design
A cylindrical box with a domed lid, carved in relief with dense peony blossoms, leaves, and scrolling clouds on its sides and a key-fret band at the base. The lid centers on a bird amid flowers, and the surface shows the deep, layered carving typical of carved lacquer.
Look closer: A small key-fret band runs around the base of the box.
