Saint Sebastian Clubbed to Death
A red chalk drawing shows a nude man being struck by club-wielding men at center, while a kneeling figure at lower left looks on. Cherubs hover in the clouds at upper left above a classical colonnade, and a crowd of soldiers stands at right. Soft shading and loose hatching suggest a study made with an expressive, quick hand.
Look closer: Cherubs crowd the clouds at the upper left, above the architecture.
