Scrollwork Escutcheon with Saint Matthew the Evangelist

An engraved ornamental escutcheon of interlocking scrollwork frames a central oval medallion showing a winged figure beside a seated man at a desk. Two nude cherubs lean on the upper corners, and a mask-like face with tassels hangs below, and fine hatched lines give the sheet a shaded, metallic texture.
