Section of a Coffin Platform: Phoenix
A low-relief carving on a dark limestone panel shows a phoenix with a crested head, spread wings and a long curving tail among stylized scrolling clouds. A beaded border runs along the top edge, and the design fills the whole rectangular field.
Look closer: A small curled cloud form sits in the lower right corner beside the phoenix's tail.
