Engraved portrait of a veiled woman with a halo, holding an open book, after Raphael's painting.

St. Catherine of Alexandria

A veiled woman with a faint halo looks to the left, her head turned slightly, while she holds an open book against her chest. Fine parallel hatching shapes her face, the folds of her white veil, and the soft drapery of her sleeves. An inscription in the lower left credits Raphael as the painter.

Look closer: Printed inscription 'RAPH. URB. PINXIT' and a small publisher's line in the lower margin.
