Stela of the Overseer of the Fortress Intef

A rectangular limestone stela carved in raised relief with bands of hieroglyphic inscription framing the scene. At left, a seated man faces an offering table laden with bread and goods, while below, cattle and herdsmen move across the lower register toward the right. The carving is shallow, crisp and evenly worked.

Look closer: A small animal lies beneath the offering table at the lower left of the scene.
