Still life of two fish, a red tomato, green peppers and a copper vessel on a dark table.

Still Life: Fish

Two fish lie on a dark green tabletop beside a red tomato and three green peppers, with a copper pitcher rising in the shadowed background and a small red bowl at right. Loose, fluid brushwork and a restricted palette of silvery greens, pinks and warm browns give the still life a quiet, intimate presence.

Look closer: A small red bowl sits partly hidden in the upper right shadows.
