Striped-Throated Lapwing, Plate 27, Birds of Western Africa

A hand-colored engraving of a striped-throated lapwing standing on a muddy bank with long yellow legs and a yellow-tipped bill. Its gray wings have a black edge, and its throat is streaked black and white, with a dark crown. Pale grasses, small palms, and distant trees fill the soft shaded background.
