Red terracotta bowl with a relief band of figures and foliage around its lower body, shown on a pale grey background.

Terracotta Megarian bowl

A terracotta bowl with flaring sides and a thick rim, shown three-quarter view on a plain grey ground. A band of molded relief decoration, including small figures and foliage, runs around the lower body beneath a row of leaf or tongue forms. The surface shows a warm red-orange fired clay with a grey interior.

Look closer: Small molded figures and foliage are partly hidden in the relief band on the lower body, visible on the left side.
