Terracotta miniature Panathenaic amphora
A miniature terracotta amphora with two handles, a flared neck and a black foot. On the body, a black-figure painted figure sits and holds a staff or stick, with white highlights, while a palmette ornament decorates the neck. The reddish-orange clay and simple black bands give the vessel a crisp, ceramic finish.
Look closer: A small reddish-brown inscription or painted mark is visible near the foot, and the neck has a row of white palmettes.
