Terracotta stand

A winged sphinx with a woman's face and bound hair sits on the body of a black-glazed terracotta stand, painted in red-figure style. Her wings spread out to either side, and her lion's body and curled tail fill the lower panel above a tall, banded foot.

Look closer: The sphinx's lion tail curls around at the lower right of the panel.
