An engraved bust of a bearded, long-haired man with a fillet in his hair, shown in profile-three-quarter view within an arched niche. His gaze lifts upward, and his draped garment falls across the lower edge. Dense hatching models the beard and curls, with the inscription PLATO, ARISTONIS F. along the base.
Look closer: The printed inscription PLATO, ARISTONIS F. with the artist credits Pet. Paul Rubens pinxit and Lud. Vorsterman fecit sculp. runs along the bottom edge.
