The bust of Seneca, in a niche
An engraved bust of a bearded, elderly man with tousled hair and a deeply lined face, his muscular bare chest and draped cloth shown within a shadowed arched niche. Fine hatching models the flesh and stone, and a Latin inscription runs along the lower edge beneath the bust.
Look closer: The printed Latin inscription along the bottom edge names the sitter and the artists in small letters.
