The Death of Raphael
A pen and ink drawing shows a pale, reclining figure on a draped bed while robed companions gather around in a dim interior. One kneeling man leans over the bed, and a seated man at right bows his head near a basin and pitcher on the floor. Fine hatching and brown wash model the folds of the cloth and the figures' somber expressions.
Look closer: A small winged figure or a painting of a crucifixion appears on the upper wall behind the crowd.
