The Entry of Alexander into Babylon
A large etching shows a dense procession of soldiers, horses, chariots and elephants advancing through a monumental city. A figure in a richly decorated chariot leads the scene, while crowds fill the balconies, arches and terraces beyond. The fine engraved lines describe architecture, crowds and rearing animals with great detail.
