Pen and brown ink drawing of a seated robed figure beside tall columns, with draped figures and a tree at left.

The Hermit: illustration for Oscar Wilde's The Teacher of Wisdom

A pen and brown ink drawing on ivory paper shows a seated, robed figure at right beside tall, schematic columns, while hooded, draped figures stand at left beneath a leafy tree. A faint outstretched arm reaches in from the upper right. Fine hatching and light graphite traces define the folds and stone.
