The New-born Buddha

A small standing gilt bronze figure of the infant Buddha, bare except for a twisted girdle, with a topknot, a dot on the brow, and turquoise-inlaid rosettes at the shoulders. He stands on a petalled lotus base with arms held at his sides, and the gilding is worn to dark bronze in places.

Look closer: A small turquoise inlay sits on each shoulder, set in a flower-shaped rosette.
