The Peep Show, or the Magic Lantern
An unglazed white biscuit porcelain group shows a man in a tricorn hat standing beside a tall peep show box topped with a small domed, lantern-like roof. Two children lean in to look through its viewing opening, all set on a rocky base. The soft, matte surface captures fine detail in the figures' clothing and hats.
