The Triumph of Marcus Aurelius
An engraved triumphal procession shows a laureate rider in a chariot pulled by four richly harnessed horses, their legs and bodies finely hatched. Above the bearded figure in the chariot, a winged figure hovers, while a trumpeter raises a long horn beneath an arch at right. Reliefs of figures and a seated personage decorate the chariot's side, in a dense, carefully ruled line technique.
Look closer: A small seated figure and standing figures in relief on the chariot side; a monogram-like inscription appears in the lower left corner.
