Crocuses, watercolor by Mary Vaux Walcott

A watercolor on paper shows two crocuses against a pale cream background: one purple bloom and one white bloom, both rising from a cluster of narrow green leaves. The signature, reading M M Vaux with a date beneath, appears in purple ink at lower left, and the petals are shaded with soft gradations of color.
