Tang dynasty earthenware statue of a standing woman holding a sprig of plum blossoms, white slip with red traces.

Woman Holding Plum Blossoms

A standing female figure in white-slipped earthenware, with traces of red pigment on her robes, wears her hair in a bun with two knobs. She raises a small sprig of blossoms near her chest, her left arm extended downward with an open hand. Layered robes gather at a sash above a rectangular base.

Look closer: Faint red pigment survives on the robe folds and sleeve, a trace of the original painted color.
